Distillery: Linkwood Region: Speyside Founded: 1821 Linkwood has a strong cult following, and as much sought after by whisky enthusiasts. It is considered a noble malt, produced at one of the regions oldest distilleries. It was founded in open land but is now part of the expanding town of Elgin. Nevertheless, sited by a reservoir, it is in a pretty area. What sets it apart from any other whisky producers is the fact that there are two distilleries on one site. The original distillery was rebuild in the 1870s, doubling the capacity. Then in 1971, a whole new distillery was built.
