The bouquet opens with aromas of tropical fruit like pineapple and papaya, creme brulee and honey that moves into a creamy medium-bodied sip offering flavors of lemon, lime and baking spices. Vibrant acidity leaves the wine refreshing and ideal for food pairing. Pair with seafood dishes like grilled halibut over peaches, seafood linguine, chicken pot pie or creamy soups, rice or potato dishes, fresh salads with vinaigrettes and hard cheeses like aged white cheddar.
Product Information
Founded in 1983 by Oregon native Jim Bernau with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region's leading wineries, earning the title of "One of American's Great Pinot Noir Producers" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine, and "Winery of the Year" by Wine and Spirits Magazine. Our mission in growing cool-climate varietals is to create elegant, classic Oregon wines for the Willamette Valley Appellation. As native Oregonians, we treasure our environment and use stainable practices in growing and vinifying our wine grapes. Our approach is to grow, by hand, the highest quality fruit using careful canopy management and yield balance, to achieve wines that are truly expressive of the varietal and the place where they are grown. We ferment and barrel each vineyard lot separately and display the best of these in our single vineyard designate bottlings. Our stylistic emphasis is on pure varietal fruit characters, with attention to depth, richness of mouthfeel and balance. The wines are truly a collaborative effort of the entire vineyard and winemaking staff. Willamette Valley Vineyards and Jim Bernau have been recognized for environmentally responsible winegrowing by LIVE (Low Impact Viticulture and Enology) as well as receiving the Sustainable Standard-Setter award from the Rainforest Alliance for their use of FSC-certified cork.
